[edit] CWAM Surplus Sale

The Cold War Air Museum (CWAM), periodically, has excess material that needs to be cleared so that CWAM has room to store newly acquired material. Please check back as new items will likely be added monthly.

We would prefer to trade with other museums but individuals are invited to make offers on CWAM surplus items.

[edit] L-29 Type II tires

Unused surplus L29 model 2 Barum 600x180 tires

CWAM has more type II L-29 tires than the museum can use in the next 50 years. Note that these tires also work for the mains on the Mi-2 although the type II or model 2 tires are not required for the Mi-2. These tires were new when placed into storage at CWAM over the course of the last 7 years. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for the tires. The value of the tires are estimated at $475 each.

[edit] L-39 Tires

Unused surplus L39 model 1 Barum 610x215 tires

CWAM has four (4) surplus L-39 model 1 Barum 610 x 215 tires in its inventory. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for the tires. The value of the very slightly used and basically new tread tires are estimated at $650 each.

[edit] L-29 Type II wheel and tires

Used surplus L29 model 2 smooth 600x180 tires mounted on wheels

Six L29 tires are already mounted on spare wheel hubs. Pre-mounted tires are a must for quick evacuation of aircraft from active runways in the event of a breaking mishap or blown tire. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for the wheel/tire sets. Emergency (smooth) tires mounted to wheels have an estimated value of $750 each.

[edit] L-29 Aircraft

CWAM has a number of surplus L-29s in its inventory. CWAM has both assembled and crated L-29s. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for the L29s. The value of the aircraft are estimated as $24,000 each.

[edit] MiG-23 Tail Dolly

MiG-23 Tail Section Dolly

CWAM has a surplus MiG-23 Tail Section Dolly in its inventory. The dolly was acquired from a former Soviet era country and is original designed and built factory ground equipment made for holding, removing, and re-mating the MiG23 tail section to the aircraft's main fuselage. This tool is a must for the MiG23 owner as it allows mechanics to adjust the three axis of the bulky tail with millimeter precision. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for this surplus item. The value of the MiG-23 Tail Dolly is estimated at $9,000.

[edit] MiG-23 Engine Dolly

MiG-23 Engine Dolly

CWAM has a surplus MiG-23 Engine Dolly in its inventory. The dolly was acquired from a former Soviet era country and is original designed and built factory ground equipment made for holding, removing, and re-mating the MiG23's engine to the aircraft's main fuselage. This tool is a must for the MiG23 owner as it allows mechanics to adjust the three axis of the very heavy engine with millimeter precision. Not shown in the picture, but included as a part of the tool that facilitates removing and installing the engine firewall insulation tube. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for this surplus item. The value of the MiG-23 Engine Dolly is estimated at $7,500.

[edit] MiG-23 Wing Dolly

CWAM has a surplus MiG-23 Wing Dolly in its inventory. The dolly was acquired from a former Soviet era country and is original designed and built factory ground equipment made for holding, removing, and re-mating the MiG23's wings to the aircraft's main fuselage. This tool is a must for the MiG23 owner as it allows mechanics to adjust the multiple axis of the bulky and heavy wings with millimeter precision into its odd angle for insertion of the swing wing pin. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for this surplus item. The value of the MiG-23 Wing Dolly is estimated at $5,000.

[edit] MiG-23 Aircraft Jacks

CWAM has a set of surplus MiG-23 Aircraft Jacks in its inventory. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for this surplus item. The value of the MiG-23 Aircraft Jack set is estimated at $12,000.

[edit] Mi-2 Main Gear strut base

Mi-2 Main Strut Base

CWAM has three (3) sets of surplus Mi-2 Main Gear Strut Base assemblies. These used Main Gear Strut Base assemblies were replaced with new parts but these were all in working order when removed. These fixed struts double as compressed air storage tank and a few of them were leaking air. Museums, please let us know what you would like to trade for these surplus item sets. The value of the used Mi-2 Main Gear Strut Base assembly are estimated at $500 per set.

[edit] Parts Inventory Loan & Replace Program

CWAM has a number of spare parts in its inventory that we keep to maintain our aircraft. The Museum is not interested in selling these parts but, we will loan you the part with the expectation that you will replace the part back to our inventory in similar or better condition. Most all of these parts are new.
